Simrit Patel

SENIOR ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Simrit Patel is a senior associate attorney at Women’s Divorce and Family Law Group by Haid and Teich, LLP.  Having focused her entire legal career in the area of family law, Ms. Patel enjoys being a zealous, yet strategic advocate who recognizes the importance of finding creative solutions to her clients’ complex litigation matters. Ms. Patel prioritizes her clients’ needs and carefully walks them through each step of the litigation process with the intent that they feel emotionally empowered at the end of their case. Ms. Patel handles cases in all aspects of family law, including divorce and post-decree matters, parentage and allocation of parental responsibilities, child support, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, and adoptions. Ms. Patel speaks both Hindi and Punjabi.

Ms. Patel also has an extensive background in non-profit management, having previously served as the Executive Director of Anima – Glen Ellyn Children’s Chorus and as the Director of Development for the National Indo-American Museum. Understanding the importance of giving back to the community, Ms. Patel has also served on the boards of several local organizations, including the Pro Bono Network, Ignite Asha, and The Community House.

Ms. Patel graduated from Northwestern University with a B.A. in Economics and Psychology and received a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
