Melanie Persangi is an Associate Attorney with the Women’s Divorce & Family Law Group by Haid and Teich, LLP (“WDFLG”). Ms. Persangi is deeply committed to guiding her clients through some of life’s most challenging moments, which is what inspired her to pursue a career in family law. She is driven by compassion and dedication, vigorously advocating for her clients while providing support to them throughout every step of their legal journey.
Prior to joining WDFLG, Ms. Persangi gained valuable experience clerking for several family law firms during law school, where she worked on matters involving the division of marital assets, child support disputes, and other complex family law issues. Before beginning on her path to a career in family law, Ms. Persangi also volunteered as a law clerk in the Juvenile Justice Division of the Office of the Cook County Public Defender.
Ms. Persangi received her J.D. and Certificate in Child and Family Law from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. During law school, Ms. Persangi was an Illinois Supreme Court Rule 711-licensed student clinician in Loyola’s Civitas ChildLaw Clinic, where she represented children in legal proceedings under clinic faculty supervision. Ms. Persangi also served as the Community Service Chair of Loyola’s Public Interest Law Society and as Managing Editor of Loyola’s Public Interest Law Reporter. In recognition of her leadership and commitment to public service during her time at Loyola, Ms. Persangi also received a Leadership, Service, and Public Interest Award.
Ms. Persangi graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Policy and minors in Legal Studies and Sociology. While at Northwestern, she became a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity’s Society of Scholars.
