For almost 25 years, Elisabeth Ritter has been dedicated to helping families and individuals successfully resolve their family law matters. Ms. Ritter has represented clients in all areas of family law and brings extensive experience to each case. From investigating financial assets during a divorce to establishing child support and maintenance and much more, Ms. Ritter is an adamant defender of her clients’ rights.
By drawing on her diverse experience, Ms. Ritter assesses each client’s situation and offers guidance on the best course of action for your unique case. Ms. Ritter has worked to protect parental rights in the Juvenile Court system and successfully defended clients against accusations reported to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
Ms. Ritter is highly familiar with court proceedings in Illinois, having appeared before approximately twenty Circuit Courts, as well as Appellate Courts in four Illinois districts and the state’s Supreme Court. Ms. Ritter is also licensed to practice in Missouri and has appeared before the St. Louis County Circuit Court as well. The Illinois State Bar Association has invited Ms. Ritter to lecture on topics related to family law.
Ms. Ritter understands that divorce impacts families in a variety of legal ways. In order to better assist clients, she has expanded her practice area to include services such as basic estate planning and probate law, and business creation and management assistance.
Ms. Ritter is a graduate of Northwestern University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree before going on to complete her Juris Doctorate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Ms. Ritter was recognized as an Illinois Rising Star in both 2008 and 2009 and has also been recognized by Best Lawyers. Ms. Ritter has been included in the Super Lawyers lists published by Chicago Magazine from 2012 to 2019.
